uHandle pretends to help those in need tied by the global challenge Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) , in order to provide solutions to those who have low life conditions in any aspect of the everyday. The goals that our project aim to help are the followings:

GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

“Achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all” (3rd SDG)

The diseases intended to cover with this project don’t tend to be fatal, so they only affect in the life-quality of their sufferers, difficulting or denying the performance of various actions. Nowadays’ solutions for illnesses depend on how many people are affected in developed countries by them, as well as whether they are mortal or not. As the proportion of affected human beings in these countries is almost negligible, there aren’t any cheap nor affordable solutions for improving the life-quality of such actions. uHandle pretend to collaborate with achieving the Universal health coverage target of the third SDG, because every illness should have pre and post solutions for it.

REDUCED INEQUALITIES

“By 2030, empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status” (10th SDG)

In addition to providing universal health coverage in the post-phase of an illness, one of the major goals of uHandle is to restore the dignity in the act of eating for affected people. The proposed solution reduces the social inequalities between the sufferers and their surroundings, as they gain autonomy or the capacity to use cutlery instead of their naked hands if they want to.
